Pro Comp
This class caters to no box bracket and street cars running
7.50 to 9.99. You get 3 qualifying attempts on Saturday, a 4th
qualifying attempt on Sunday and eliminations on Sunday. You
don't need to be at the track Saturday to race on Sunday.
Rules are pretty simple and are as follows:
Class Description:
- The Pro Comp class was designed for all vehicles and trucks
that run 7.50 to 9.99 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Open exhaust
and vehicle lettering/decals permitted. Dragsters, Altered &
Motorcycles are not permitted. The "Pro Comp" class will be
run on an Open Comp format with a 1-tenth (1/10th) breakout.
What this means is, you get 3 rounds of qualifying. You choose
your dial-in for eliminations. This time will be yours
throughout eliminations (IT DOES NOT CHANGE).
Qualifying:*
The best reaction time is the #1 qualifier, you will then be
put on a Sportsman ladder for eliminations. *There will be 1
(one) qualifying session on Sunday morning of each event for
Open Comp and Pro Comp only. Racers in these classes will not
be required to qualify on Saturday if they so choose. All
racers will be required to pay the same entry fee regardless
of whether they participate in one or two days of the event.
Class Guidelines
Rules & Regulations:
- Pro Comp is based on an Open Comp format, which uses a "
5/10ths Pro Tree" start system. Any "door slammer-type"
vehicle is permitted. Any modifications, any tires, any
vehicle weight, or power adders are permitted. Trans-brakes
and 2-steps are permitted. Delay boxes, Throttle-stop,
crossover boxes, or any "reaction-time related" electronic
aids strictly prohibited.
E.T. Limits:
- The fastest qualifying ET permitted in the Open Comp class
is 7.50. Any qualifying pass faster than 7.50 will be
disqualified and will not count. Competitor will be permitted
to requalify (if additional qualifying rounds are left) slower
than 7.50. Competition will be regulated under standard IHRA
"First or Worst" competition policy during qualifying and
eliminations.
Deep Staging:
- Deep staging is permitted, however not advocated. If you
plan to Deep Stage it is strongly recommended that you boldly
display the words DEEP on all four windows, in plain view of
the starter. It is always the driver's responsibility to stage
the vehicle prior to the tree being activated. In any event,
the driver must be prepared to leave as soon as the final
stage light is lit.
- A competitor with the words DEEP displayed on the window is
not necessarily obligated to deep stage. As well, the starter
is not necessarily obligated to wait on a driver to deep
stage, even if the words DEEP are displayed on the vehicle.
All drivers must be prepared to leave as soon as the final
stage light is lit.
Tow Vehicles:
- Pro Comp does not allow tow vehicles of any sort in the
staging lanes. You can tow your vehicle back to the pits at
the conclusion of your run after exiting the racing surface.
Race Format:
